Sorry about the DMG-in-a-ZIP thing. DA wouldn't let me upload the DMG directly.

So after writing the Mac version of the "Polka is Magic" [link] screensaver, I realised I now have a solid set of code to use for making pony screensavers. She Reads All Day is one of those incredible videos that always makes me smile, and now I can smile every time I leave my computer idle for a while. (Rhyme not intended :) )

It will default to playing with no audio, but you can turn audio on in the settings if you're into that sort of thing. Screensavers with audio can be a risky business!

THIS SCREENSAVER ONLY WORKS ON 10.7 "LION" AND 10.8 "MOUNTAIN LION"! This is due to a bug in Snow Leopard's Screen Saver engine that has no known workaround, resulting in me needing to use APIs that were only made available in 10.7.

On another note: I had this thought about screensavers. I was thinking of maybe extending the code behind this so that it will pull the videos (and cache them) directly from YouTube. So you could, for example, in the settings page add a YouTube playlist and when the screensaver starts up it will randomly play one of the videos in the playlist. The idea would be, I'd create a YouTube playlist of all my favourite pony videos and set that as my screensaver - but it would work with any YouTube video (provided it has a mobile version), not just ponies. Would anypony be interested in something like that?

Fixed the issue where the screensaver wouldn't start for some ponies.

UPDATE (05-May-2012):
Improved video quality somewhat.
Made the video loop to a more appropriate position.
Fixed a serious bug when used while Polka is Magic is installed.

Well it doesn't work on my mac for some reason...
I got it to test correctly, audio and everything, but when it activates the screen just flickers once.
